Okay, so I haven't "blogged" in awhile. To save time, here are some pictures to summarize our holiday season in Room 111. Looking at these pictures made me realize that I should have asked Santa for a new camera! The pictures aren't as clear as I thought. Oh, well. Enjoy!
Yes, I had a Christmas tree in my classroom.
Thank you to my mom for this cute little fella! The kiddos LOVED him.
Shape Reindeer
Look at those short, stumpy legs! AH! Love it!
Gift Wrap Shoppe
The students had to "buy" wooden blocks, wrap them, and place under the tree. Right before we left for break, we each picked a present, guessed what it was, and opened it. Only a few "guessed" wooden block. Most let their imagination take over and they were invisioning AWESOME presents. It was a great oral language exercise. I let them announce what they thought it was on the microphone. It was adorable.
Gift for our families! We make gingerbread ornaments. Mrs. Augustine prepared the gingerbread ornaments beforehand. They were just brown paper from the paper rolls, cut with fancy scissors (!!), stapled together with kleenex inside. After the students decorated them, we sprayed them with a clear coating to keep them nice and pretty! Simple, but cute. We wrote their names and 2012 on the back. What parent doesn't LOVE a Christmas gift from their child in DK!?
I sent home Gingerbread men for families to decorate.
I love these trees. So bright and festive. I acutally still have them up today! I argue they are winter themed.
BIGGEST PRESENT EVER!
